Eclipse: 26 Floors Above the Med and Barcelona

I have one regret about my trip to Barcelona. I didn’t go to Eclipse. The bar at the W Hotel in Barcelona has the best view in the city: 26 floors above the Mediterranean Sea. It also has one of the best looking bar menus I have ever seen. 

I was considering “Infidelity.” No, honey, not that kind. Check out the description of the cocktail here:

“Excellia reposado tequila, pomegranate, lime juice, Cointreau and tamarind syrup served in a coupe glass with a smoked salt rim.”

Barcelona, like the rest of Spain, is quiet until late at night and Eclipse doesn’t open until 7:00 p.m. Unfortunately, the sun and all the city walking made me more ready for a siesta than a fiesta by that time.

Still, I was determined to have a peek at the view. I hitched a ride on one of the hotel lifts to the highest floor permissible during the day: the 25th floor.

How nice it would have been to have a taste of infidelity with this view. Yes, honey, I am speaking about the cocktail again!
